North Carolina

[Diablo]

I am considering a move to either North or South Carolina and would prefer to be within an easy drive of Myrtle Beach. Can anyone give me some information about the Carolinas? I know States have websites, but they don't put anything negative in those sites. I know that the climate would be decent and I'll have the beach and mountains in the same state; but I don't know which towns are better than others, the bad neighborhoods and so forth.
