I'm new to posting here but please help!

Ok here's the deal, im a Junior in Highschool and me and my girlfriend have been going out for 1 year and almost 5 months, now after this long time im starting to think that im missing out on something by staying with one girl for so long. Now i love this girl and i lost my virginity to her and hers to me but i guess im just curious, i would never cheat on her although she has cheated on me once (made out with one of my best friends:( that hurt bad) butim not one to cheat on her. i would never want to make her feel so shitty. And i love her so much that taking a break i know would hurt her also allowing her to know we arent together and that im hanging around with other girls. I'm just completely clueless on what to do. My rents are no help tho they dont want me to be with her and think im wasting my time but i have a friend i talk to who started dating his girlfriend 1 day after i asked mine out and we both share this problem so please help me out. oh and for reference our relationship is not a bad one, everything is fine in that area so no thats not it.

like i mean i really love this girl, but being 16, im obviously wondering if this is just a waste of time staying with one girl for this long at such a young age. and as i said before im curious as to what else is out there, other girls, i find myself flirting with other girls a lot but not enough to get them alone and do anything, because i dont want to cheat on her.:confused: im just wondering on other peoples opinions

Maybe you're just figuring out what you need and what you want.You're young so you have a long way to go.

Dude. You're young and will not be marrying this girl. You dated, had fun and now your looking to move on. You'll be doing this with girls for the next 5 - 10 years.

Go out and meet alot of girls. Date a lot of girls. You'll gain alot of experience and you'll get to deal with a lot of different personalities. You'll discover what you like in a partner and what you don't. All of this knowledge will help you to pick a wife that you'll want to stay married to for a long time.

There's no reason to hate this girl. Just tell her that you feel that this relationship has run its course and that you want to move on. Of course she'll be hurt, but someone always feels hurt on a non-mutual breakup. Tell her that you still like her, but not in that way anymore and that you want to break up.
