Nagzilla died Saturday night. I called her that here because she was not imaginary (yeah I know, I didn't challenge the suggestion that she was. Long story that can't be told at the moment) and I didn't want to tell her name on the net. Anyway, her vital signs were normal on Friday morning and we thought she would be okay. Saturday at around 9:00 pm, she died while I was administering cpr. I can't lie about y'all about it, I'm mighty tore up right now. But I'll be okay. I'm not bitter and won't do anything stupid. She was in horrible pain and isn't anymore. I never succeeded in getting her into a pain clinic, so she really is better off now. I'm still going to miss her. I'm holding down food better today and I'm donating her body to medical research. She's in a better place now and is no longer in pain.

I'm sorry to hear about the sad news. Over the years she's kind of became a thing of discussion on here and part of the family I'd say(even though she wasn't on here). You did great for her though....you cared for her, you took her in, and was just there for her even at her worst. You were and are still a dear friend to her. Even though she may not have shown it often I'm sure she is thankful to have a friend like you.

Thanks y'all. My apartment doesn't feel right, but that will pass. I was talking to her about her going online and joining here, but she got too sick. Anyway, we're having a memorial service for her on the 29th. She's dancing with her late husband, talking with her family, playing with all the pets that died on her; she's okay. And she's laughing at me because I'm still stuck on earth.

Why did they call her nagzilla or was it you that called her "nagzilla" if you don't mind me asking?

It was me who called her Nagzilla. It was a pet name. She really didn't mind me calling her that, but did get mad if someone else called her Nagzilla.

I'll be damned! How are ya Sally? I'm hanging in there. She would have wanted other people to have her stuff, so I've been giving away a lot of her things and donating other stuff to charity. I'm just keeping a few things to remember her by.

Her family's all dead. In recent weeks, she brought up a cousin who may be alive, but I have no clue as to how to find him.

The horrible thing is that her bones were breaking apart on the inside and she couldn't get into a pain clinic. She stood up to a mobster in Jersey and the last thing he said to her was, "you'll never get medical treatment again." I did find old school doctors along the way who would help some and their names must never be known. My mom said thirty years ago that the medical community is in bed with the mafia. I didn't believe it then, but I believe it now. If they get serious about taking out organized crime, all they need to do is investigate the medical community.

Medical care is scary here. By some estimates, medical insurance will soon cost $50,000 a year, but the republicans block any attempt to reform the system.

Talk about Republicans....Glenn Beck was just in Seattle this weekend. There were more protesters than supporters. He is such a narrow minded douche bag. We Canadians can't stand him. He has no clue, he just rambles on that American are losing their rights, blah blah blah. I didn't know that having affordable medical for all was a threat.....I always wonder who's lining his pockets to say all that misleading crap.

There are two things that I dislike about Obama's plan (though any change is better than what we have now) #1: he wants to make it mandatory to have health insurance. The people who don't have health insurance don't have it because they can't pay for it. That genius Obama now wants to make it a crime to not have it. He's as out of touch with ordinary people as George Busch (pun intended) was. The second thing I don't like about it is that Obama's plan does not do enough to address the runaway cost of health care. If nothing is done about that, the medical community will bankrupt this country. So Obama offers healthcare reform that won't fix the problem, while the Republicans are against any change. There's a phrase that fits the situation; "we're screwed no matter who wins." Well, that's usually an election year quote.

Well like anything it's all about adjusting to change. The plan isn't written in stone, he just wants to get started with something. I'm sure he will reconsider not making it against the law. I feel he's just putting ideas out there. If it don't fly he's gonna back off and find a different solution. There will be struggles and failures. And no one can expect a glorious new medical system to happen over night. It's gonna take years to squeeze out the greed and corruptness of those private insurance and pharmaceutical companies. All those years of lining politician's pockets is a tough habit to break. Our system isn't without it's flaws but it's pretty damn good. I pay $50 a month for full coverage. I pay an additional $30 through my work for prescriptions and dental. I pay nothing extra for surgery or doctor visits. If you don't have medical and need it, you can sign up right away, make your $50 payment and yer in. Cons, there can be waiting lists for certain treatments, surgeries and testing like MRIs. But lately that's is getting much better too.
Everyone is so scared that too much government regulation is going to take away Americans rights. Well no. It will stop big industry from taking advantage of the little guy. Prime example: the Canadian banking system is government regulated and the banks didn't get caught up in buying out all those bad mortgages. I don't know of anyone who lost their job here. All I saw was my investments go down, but today everything is back up again, I still have my job, my house, all is good. It really didn't affect us. But after what happened to you guys there are even more stricter guidelines to follow when getting a loan or a mortgage. No more 0 down, 20% min down payment with 100% credit rating, no more 40 year mortgages. Max I think is 30 years. The government is keeping everyone in line to prevent a national financial collapse, mass lay offs and foreclosures. So Obama does have his hands full thanks to Bush and his lack of leadership. Well Steven Harper is no winner either in our books...he's such a wet blanket lol. Anywho at least Obama is willing to take on the challenge and take action.....just everyone keep an open mind and have hope that things will get better. We Love Obama...we would trade Harper for him any day lol. Ya ya I know, no bloody way! LOL!

A more socialized health care system won't work in the US. Where is the money going to come from to fund such initiatives? Who is going to pay for mandatory health care? It is not feasible.
I don't understand the constant comparison of the health care system with Canada. #1 Canada's health care system does not exactly rank the highest in the world. #2 There is a great difference in the ideals, economic systems, and political structures. #3 There is a major difference in the size of the population between Canada and the US. Therefore, there are different needs and requirements in order to establish a sustainable health care system.

Yes we know it's not perfect like I had already said in my post, but something is better than nothing. And of course our particular system won't work but one of similar idea suited to the demographics, etc can work for your country. This of course will take years. But we all know where all that money that could have been used went. Your government has no problem finding money, such as the trillions spent on the war on drugs. It's all about priorities. Don't kid yourself about the money, the money is there, it depends on where they are going to spend it. Like any government money is wasted. It's too bad they don't run it like a business where the public can fire their ass when they aren't doing their job and there's a loss of profit. Hire ones that actually have proper credentials instead of getting voted in by popularity. Our politicians don't get voted out, they just make them Minister of something else. And if they don't do that they get a huge pension for 4 years of work. It's like a clown show. Canadians are more concerned about their hockey and beer than politics:P

I hope it works out for us. By some estimates, approximately 200,000 non-terminal patients die in U.S. hospitals every year. Some will say that's not too much, but these are people who didn't have a life threatening condition. So not only is our health care too expensive, it's also shoddy.

I'm hanging in there. Nagzilla is now a box of ashes in my closet. We shared a place the last year and a half of her life. Here's a funny story from when she was alive.
A while back, Nagzilla decided that she wanted to try tobacco, but couldn't smoke because of her COPD. She decided to try Skoal Bandits and asked me to open the can for her. I decided to tease her about it.
Me: "Didn't they teach you in finishing school how to open a can of tobacco with your thumbnail?"
Nagzilla: "No."
Me: "Well, what did they teach you to use?"
Nagzilla: "A man."
Anyway, the depression comes and goes. Shortly after she died, I would be half awake in the morning and reach for her, but there was nothing there. I have quit doing that, but it's going to be a hard Christmas. I talk to her picture, but don't expect it to talk back.
Me: "Nagzilla; you died too soon. Co'mere and get yer whooppin'."
A neighbor: "Nagzilla's gonna strike you down with a lightning bolt."

Diablo

Osteonuecrosis. She also had a lot of episodes with pnuemonia. They didn't tell her about the pnuemonia vacine until the last few years of her life. I guess treating pnuemonia is more profitable than giving a vaccination. Which is why many people are still unaware of the pnuemonia shot.

Well, mostly the funny stories she would tell when she was in a good mood. A good bit of the time was spent getting her through one crisis or another. And I have some funny stories about her to tell. Here's one:
I was due to get my electric guitar back from the pawn shop and started teasing her that it was her alarm clock. I get it back one morning and start rocking out. Oblivious to the fact that the amp was too loud until I heard Nagzilla hollering. She said, "you weren't kidding about that thing being my alarm clock were you?" Oops.
