Ok incase you cant tell that is some sarcasm thier, :p but yes i am a newbie from australia. :D

im an 18 year old guy who does alright with the ladies but is struggling with confidence at the moment.

i think im reading to much into the signs i am receiving from a girl, rather than just jumping right in and talking to her even if i dont have a clue who she is, which in the past ive had an alright strike-rate with.

i guess im just in fear of rejection, perhaps the after effects from the way this girl treated me in my last real lenghty relationship.

i also think that prhaps im a bit aprehensive about talking to girls i like cos it could well become a more serious relationship, and i perhaps have feelings for this girl who has told me she has feelings for me, but ive told her it wont work cos she is a few years younger than me and a family friend

i wish the girls i like would start conversations with me

WELL ANYWAY, thats my first post on this site, i doubt it makes any sense, but u get that

Welcome to the boards :D

You are not alone when it comes time for the fear of rejection. The thing you have to look at is the fact we are all human. If you hold back because of this fear then you lose out on opportunities. You want girls to speak to you and some will but you need to be more open and not give off a vibe that you are shy.

If you dont approach then you lose out also. The only way in finding a mate is to find one. You don't sit around waiting for a job to come to you do you? No, you go out and look for a job....The same goes for when looking for a mate.
