View Full Version : Urn for Nagzilla

Some of you wouldn't remember Nagzilla, but she was my neighbor and then my roomate, then common law wife. She died on September 19th 2009. Since then she had been a box of ashes in my closet, but she's now in an urn on her memorial wall. I got her urn on Wednesday, which would have been her birthday, thereby ending the "Nagzilla needs to come out of the closet", jokes. I'm soon to get an urn for her second husband who is still a cardboard box of ashes in the closet. 'Course, they put the plastic bag of ashes in a plastic box, which they then put in a cardboard box, so saying he's a box of ashes in my closet is a little misleading. I think Nagzilla would have liked her urn. It's brass with a lighthouse and ocean scene painted on it. Anyway, if I had a digital camera, I would post a picture of her memorial wall, but I don't have a digital camera.

You could always get a disposable camera and have Wal-mart photo dept. put it onto disc for ya. I upload my photos with Picasa3. It's free and it's so simple to use. You can get pretty creative with some of the special effects it comes with. If you don't like what you did you can just click on undo and start over.:)

Well ya, but viruses and spyware knocked my computer down. My brother knows how to upload photos from a CD from a public computer, so I'll talk to him about it.

She's better off. She couldn't find a doctor for her osteonuecrosis. They all blamed various things, but the truth of the matter is that pain medicine is worth more on the street, so that's where most of it goes. Here there are even cancer patients who can't get pain medicine from a doctor.

Ya I got hit last year with a wicked trojan that shut my computer down. I was charged almost $200 and they never bothered to set everything up on my computer. My computer is usable but I get error messages and crap going on......not happy.

That sounds delightful Diablo. You were so good to her and so devoted. She would love it and is very lucky to have someone like you in life and after life.

Well ja, but I'm not sure if she likes the "damn ghost" jokes. Anyway, I'm probably going to get a a disposable camera next month. I'm doing better. Her death wasn't unexpected, so I'm not as upset as I would have been if it weren't expected. One thing that irked me is that she hadn't been dead three weeks and people were telling me I needed a new woman. On the bright side of things, I got my Stratocaster (electric guitar) back. It had been at the pawn shop for a while. I also found a Marshall VS30 that I put on layaway and got it. A Strat and a Marshall amp is a good pairing and so far, the neighbors haven't complained. I also got an acoustic guitar. It had a cracked headstock and the guy who owned it, said if I could fix it, I could have it. I fixed it and named it after Nagzilla. Anyway, with my computer down and letting cable go to free up some money; there hasn't been much to do but play guitar. I'm neither a bad nor good guitarist, but after a long while of no tv and no computer, I should be mighty good. Nagzilla hasn't been in many dreams lately. I was having dreams about her regularly and most of the dreams were okay, but in some of them we argued. I would wake up feeling bad after we'd argue in a dream. After a death, the depression comes and goes. I've been feeling better lately, but sometimes the finality of it still hits me.

So she didn't have the healthiest bones?

Nope and a lot of her joints were artificial, but it turned out that's not what killed her. The pnuemonia got her. Everyone was afraid she'd die a long, horrible death, but it was quick and didn't hurt too much as near as I could tell.

I'm glad to have the Strat back too. I bought it back in 2005 new. It turned out to be an unusual Strat. Most Strats have a tremolo arm (Whammy bar), mine doesn't. It's one of the few Strats made with a fixed bridge. I prefer a fixed bridge, so getting a Strat with one was a great stroke of luck. They didn't make many of them and they don't make them anymore.

I'm a Gibson girl. I have a new SG.....just a low end one. They sure have dropped in price. Who knew the economy would turn like it did. I kinda wish mine had the tremolo bar. I have an old Tesco too but it's in need of restoration....not really worth it.

Gibsons are good, but pricey if you want at least a Standard. If I get a windfall, I might get a SG. I like the bite of a Les Paul, but I don't like the weight of one. I have an old Lotus Les Paul (in the seventies, people made cheap copies of Fenders and Gibsons until Gibson and Fender successfully sued to stop the practice) in need of restoration. I might restore it before long. I've heard those cheap Les Pauls play the same as the real Mckoy. Since it needs restoring anyway, I'm going to put some Seymore Duncuns in it. It won't be quite as good as a Gibson because it has a plywood body, but it'll sound okay. My Stratocaster is an American Standard that I bought out of my last student loan (I went back to school late). I like to joke that it's the only thing I have to show for my education.

Ya I have a Les Paul copy too made by National. Yes I know National is well known for their steel guitars but for some reason they made these in the late 70's. It was my first guitar and I still like to play it. Yes Les Pauls are like boat anchors, but the sound and feel is awesome.

What do you play on your guitars? I play mostly rock and blues.
