im new here...how is everyone? well i am 31 and i have accepted a proposal of marriage. never thought it would ever happen...i couldnt imagine who would put up with me and i couldnt imagine telling someone my every move...i love him to death and he does me...we met the "NEW" way...on-line...and i have moved 19 hours to be with him and yes it has been tough financially but he keeps me going. it is NOT easy to do what i have done. i have a long past of great and also tramatic stories......if anyone would ever like to chat....my concern is lately we are raising hell about stupid things that we both know are not worth it...i love his family and i think they love me more than him or at least are happy finally someone who is true in his life...especially his 10 year old girl who has taken me in so kindly and hugs and loves me...mind you i have never been married and havent had children yet...i could write a book..i think maybe i need a someone to talk with....is there anyone out there who can share their life experiences...i am from new york and had a few wondeerful relations with "well to do" people...nothing makes me happier than my man now coming home...we are from 2 different places and it is playing on us....

The only thing that I can see right off the bat is the different mindset that will exist between you and your new family.

You probably have that New York mindset of wanting to do everything quickly and of going at a fast pace. I'm from the NYC area as well, so that's not a shot. Just a fact.

What you're going to find out with people from the south, is that they prefer to take thier time and do things slowly. They are also more open, friendly and trusting right off the bat. Whereas people from NYC are more guarded and non-trusting initially.

Just take it slow and remember the core concepts to having a great relationship. Communicate, be open, be trusting and just talk everything out as adults. Treat each other with respect and consideration and you'll be well on your road to being happy.

I'm not ready for marriage just yet.I have to get my life back together & set my priorities straight.Right now,I'm in the process of getting a part-time job at CVS and have been waiting for that opportunity for 11 years and I'm still dating this girl Robin who've I've been going out with for 8 months now.This is my 2nd relationship in 3 1/2 years.

Smith,during those 11 years after I wound up getting fired on August 8th 1994,between 1994-2004(5),I've been volunteering and attending programs that would help to try to get back into the workplace cause back then I never knew what I wanted to do with my life and what career I needed to pursue so I wound up in programs and workshops.That's my life in a nutshell. :rolleyes:

Hello my name is martin and I would like to hear what you have to say. I am getting married in less than a month. I love my fiannce so very much but sometimes I have problems with her past and how it effects me and our relationship. It would be nice to understand her a little more.
