I'm thinking about getting into civil war battle reenactments. I'd love to do calvary, but you have to provide your own horse and a horse ain't in my budget right now.
The only thing about doing the reenactments is that everything has to be historically accurate. You have to shave with a straight razor and hand held mirror, eat a lot of hardtack. But the battles themselves should be fun. I'm going to have to get a confederate uniform and other supplies, so I'm not going to do this tomorrow, but probably within a reasonable amount of time.

That's really cool.

Yeah, and it should be fun as hell. I eventually want to be a calvary officer, but I have no idea when I could. You have to be careful about going too high up in rank. All the general's usually do is sit around in a tent, but captain, major or colonel should be fun ranks. I'm probably going to start out as infantry though.

Most battle reenactments have a crowd watching. And Howard, these days you can get shot while walking down the sidewalk minding your own business. It should be okay unless somebody screws up.
