The spirit is willing, but the cash is weak. When I have the money to take one, I'll be too busy working.

I'm in the same boat as Diablo.
I have the vacation time but where can I go all by myself with no money?
Hubby doesn't have any vacation time left due to using it all going back and forth to court because of a psycho ex-wife who takes him to court if he farts wrong! LOL
So, I am left taking a day off here and there and making it a 3-4 day weekend, like I'm doing this weekend. Taking off the 1st for my b.d and we have Monday off for the Fourth. Not doing a damn thing this weekend other than maybe going to the movies with my daughters are by myself.
What's everyone doing for the Fourth?
Hopefully something more exciting than what I have planned......

I don't know what I'm doing on the 4th Of July just yet but I'm hoping that Robin comes over my house on Sunday cause she's been wanting me to return the favor to her.

Hey All. :)
Sally, Thanks for the thoughtful thread. ;)
Diablo & Piratesmate, even though you have little money it doesn't mean you can't find a way to enjoy yourself. Vacations are not the only way to find fun. Diablo find fun out of his pool, caring for a friend, and also the recent sward thing. Piraresmate, I don't know much about you yet but you can find happiness out of little things arund you that doesn't involve a lump sum of money. Sally, suggested that she goes camping and yet again that is a an inexpensive thing to do for fun.
My vacation went well. I met my GF's older sister who is very nice. She has a family of 4 kids and a husband. We done many things around the Altanta area. I enjoyed the state of GA well and I would go back.
Thank You All :)

Well ja, but I want to disapear for a week or two. It would be hard to choose between a culinary vacation or a golf vacation. I can play golf here and I can cook here, but spending a week or two invading the restaurants of New Orleans or at that golf town in South Carolina, with no one having a clue as to how to reach me... That would be good.

Start taking your pocket change and put it in a jar like a piggy bank. I am currently doing that and also adding a 5 dollar bill each week. Once its full I will use that money to buy something I want or maybe towards another vacation. It sounds little but that money does add up in the end.......

Were going to South Carolina next week.My husband has to work in Savanna GA but it will be cheaper to stay at a resort in SC 30 miles away, and my husbands work will be paying for all but 2 nights. :) A week by the ocean will be nice. My mom and dad used to go to New Orleans just on a whim to go eat at the restaurants down there. They lived (mom still does) in Nebraska. So it was a bit of a drive. LOL

I'm making Pagan staffs (decorated with semi-precious stones, fur and typically having a quartz crystal on top) and selling them out of a gift shop. I can salt that money away for a vacation since I've about got the bills caught up.

Have you tried selling them on ebay?

I might do that myself, but I'm in a down time right now. Not much cash and my car needs a ring job. When I start working on that car, you might hear me cussin' all the way over where you'll be at.
