My boyfriend is Pakistani and I'm black. We talk about marriage and kids all the time but lately we've been getting more serious about it. I'm ready for him to tell his parents about us so I can meet them and we can get married, but he's saying it's not time. He's afraid they wont approve of me because Im not pakistani and don't know the traditions very well. But I told him Im willing to convert to Muslim and Ive been learning the language pretty good.
I'm getting a bit discouraged about him ever telling them. They have already been telling him they are going to find him a wife. It breaks my heart to think he would let them do that and I would have to live without him.
Can anyone relate or know someone who dates a pakistani or indian? I can't imagine how our families would merge or how our wedding would look, if we even get to have one :confused:
